Meanwhile, various medical associations, including FORDA (Federation of Resident Doctors Associations) and FAIMA (Federation of All Indian Medical Associations), have protested the move and issued statements, claiming doctors are already overworked. and that they will now have to go to these hospitals on Sundays. too much.

In the communication to the heads of these three hospitals, the Ministry of Health said: “As a first step, the Sunday OPD will start at Safdarjung Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College and Associated Hospitals and Dr. RML without any additional financial implication.

“The hospitals will manage the Sunday OPD with the existing workforce and submit the full proposal with detailed financial implications after 02-03 months after obtaining comments / contributions from relevant departments, other hospitals and the greater public, ”he said.
