Ryan Reynolds Hires LeVar Burton to Advertise Aviation Gin After Successful Jeopardy! Countryside

It’s been a lightning week for former Star Trek star LeVar Burton. Fans have been calling for some time now that he should be one of the guest hosts that appear on Jeopardy! with the likes of Ryan Reynolds rallying around him to show his support. The game show’s executive producers have confirmed that Burton will be among the final guest hosts to be featured for the year. Not satisfied with getting a job at LeVar at Sony Pictures Television, Reynolds announced that he was campaigning for him to participate in “literally everything” which apparently begins with an advertisement for Reynolds’ Aviation Gin company.

“Everyone’s said how awesome LeVar Burton is,” Reynolds says at the start of the announcement. “So I decided to bring him in for me as the spokesperson for Aviation Gin.” Burton then appears onscreen outside by a swimming pool, delivering his ad: “The refreshingly sweet taste of American Aviation gin for an out of this world gin and tonic.” Reynolds adds, “Now this man is one hell of a national treasure, and he’s probably too good for that.” The ad goes black and the pair laugh back and forth with Burton implied being in Reynolds’ head. Check it out below!

When Burton was confirmed to be a host for Jeopardy !, Reynolds showed his support by writing “This has to be an ongoing gig.”

“THANK YOU … to all of you for your passionate support! I am delighted, excited and looking forward to welcoming Jeopardy !, and I will do my best to live up to your confidence in me. A DIFFERENCE! Go ahead and Take my word for it this time, “Burton said on Twitter.” Many thanks to Joshua Sanders for initiating the petition.

This Aviation Gin commercial also marks another terrific quick move from Reynolds, having been part of a 4/20 themed commercial for HighKey earlier in the week. The actor ran a slew of great commercials for his businesses, including one for Mint Mobile that took Rick Moranis out of retirement and another that featured a Gary Busey cameo. His advertising firm Maximum Effort also did a funny advertisement for Match.com recently. The actor even graced the cover of Entrepreneur magazine and talked about his advertising philosophy.

“We are really risk averse. So people really think we like to shoot from the hip, because we move so fast and stuff, ”Reynolds said. “But we’re really thinking about it all. We really find our railings. The same way I write Deadpool. It’s like, ‘Okay, what is a person hyper-sensitive to this type of material going to say? “Who’s the guy who doesn’t care about anything? I want to find the environment where everyone feels in some way seen.
