WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Governor Laura Kelly was in Wichita on Monday as part of her “Back to Work, Back to School” tour.

Last week the tour focused on economic development. This week the focus is on health care. The governor visited the Wesley Medical Center and was fortunate enough to visit the children’s hospital. She also spoke with members of the associations of black nurses. His big message was to call for the expansion of Medicaid and to urge the Kansans to get vaccinated.

“We have to keep increasing this, we have to achieve collective immunity if we are really going to go back to work, go back to school and get back to normal,” Governor Kelly said.

The Sedgwick County Department of Health has partnered with the Wichita Black Nurses Association and churches in underserved communities to help get more vaccines to the arms of Wichita’s minorities.

Below is a list of mobile clinics hosted by the Black Nurses Association and Sedgwick County.
